Hi Folks,

We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.

This is not one of those features.

This is Random Shots, and it's a few pages of me sharing all the random goofiness from this week. With maybe a music note and sometimes a "soap box" wrap at the end.

Here's to Football.

J

If a fantasy football season were 9 seconds like this video, we're about 4 seconds in.

But so far, this feels pretty accurate.

Make sure to have the sound on.

Footballguys Random Shots QB1 had himself a week.

I could probably wrap it right there. But I won't.

The Week 8 Rankings are live.

The Vanderbilt - Alabama memes keep delivering.

Thanks to Jake Bryant for that one.

This week's Glitch In The Matrix.

One more reason to love Cooper Kupp.

How it started.

How it went.

My man weaves in God, Jesus, and Eminem into his answer.

Just going to drop this right here.

Thanks to Jason Wood and Matt Carey for that one.

Jayden Daniels circa 2014...

Thanks to Clayton Gray for that one.

God Bless You, Bears Fans.

Thanks to Bob Henry for that one.

Ok then.

Like clockwork.

This one got me. Thank you to our Police Folks and First Responders.

You have an incredibly difficult job. Thank you.

My favorite uniforms in the league. Well done, Tampa Bay.

It's that time of year.

Although this has to be the winner.

That's a tight spiral, David Montgomery.

I think part of why we flipped out over Anthony Richardson pulling himself out of the game in a crucial situation because he "was tired" was this was happening at nearly the same time.

We all had the same reaction to Tagovailoa learning how to slide.

Hmmm. Keon Coleman is good, maybe?

I know Xavier Legette is a horse guy, and this was likely more about him than Denver, but the riding-the-horse celebration against the Broncos was too good.

The Dwayne Wade statue was something.

The internet had thoughts.

Sometimes, among friends, words aren't necessary.

Jets Fans Mood.

That "thump" at the end always gets me.

Thanks to Jason Wood for that one.

Related. This stat is crazy.

Hang in there, Jets fans.

Well done, Oregon.

Here's a stat line you don't see every day.

Perspective.

Back to the Dwayne Wade statue, I'm with Chief here. Let the person who did Ed Reed's do them all.

Music Note this week.

I know I've been hitting a ton of old music, but that's where my head has been lately.

Everyone loves Led Zeppelin. Me too. I'm picking one for them that's probably not at the top of most people's list.

Bon-Y-Aur Stomp is a fun hoedown and a little different from much of their music. From Wikipedia, it's "about walking in the woods with Plant's blue-eyed Merle dog named Strider. Plant reportedly named his dog after Aragorn (often called Strider) from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. However, there are no explicit references to Tolkien's works in "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp". In live performances, Robert often shouts "Strider!" at the end of the song.

"The group recorded the song at Headley Grange in 1970, using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. They completed it at Island Studios in London, and Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Guitarist Jimmy Page used an acoustic guitar, drummer John Bonham played spoons and castanets, and bassist John Paul Jones played a double bass."

There you go.

Browns fans today:

I like Jayden Daniels more each game.

This was cold.

These darn kids today...

Seriously, this is so smart. I have to think every QB in the league should be training this way. This isn't the future; it's already here.

I love this.

From Uproxx:

"ESPN’s ‘NFL Live’ crew is never afraid to poke fun at each other, and while discussing Jayden Daniels’ incredible Hail Mary to beat the Bears on Monday afternoon, Marcus Spears decided to take a crack at Dan Orlovsky.

"Spears said the Commanders wouldn’t have had a shot at that Hail Mary with Dan at quarterback cause he couldn’t have thrown the ball that far. Later in the show, the research team found Dan’s longest throw of his career was 54 air yards, which Ryan Clark called “a helluva throw” but Spears dismissed as a “wake up”, continuing to throw some barbs Dan’s way.

"That led to a challenge for Spears to back up his talk by doing it himself, since he and Clark were on site in Pittsburgh for Monday Night Football."

Coors Light Marketing Team is on the ball.

I had the same reaction to the Diontae Johnson trade to Baltimore as The Sports Geek: "Can he play cornerback?"

One advantage of Mike Tomlin coaching for 17 seasons is he knows where the cameras are.

This was straight out of "The Office" after Russell Wilson connected on a 36-yard back shoulder pass to Van Jefferson Monday night.

Thanks to For The Win for that one.

Maybe you, like me, could use a timeline cleanse. Sound on.

Yup.

How are these not their all the time helmets?

Wrapping with this one on the Soap Box.

Jameis Winston is my guy. Everyone knows that.

Here's another side of him.

Folks are having fun seeing Winston have his mind blown that he gets to have a tray on his window.

But I think there's a serious note on this. A sense of wonder is one of the most valuable and underrated awesome traits in a person. I think it's naturally linked with another wonderful trait: gratitude.

It's so easy to take for granted so many good things, and I think there's incredible value in cultivating a sense of wonder and amazement for the simpler things. I've found in my own life being thankful for the little things has been a bonus.

Rock on. And stay amazed.

Thank you for being part of this goofy journey with us.

And thanks to Footballguys Keith Overton, Jake Bryant, and Clayton Gray for the help. If you've got a Random Shot of your own, email me at bryant@footballguys.com.

Thanks for playing along, and I hope you make the most of whatever you're doing in your life. Love your neighbor and stick together.

Peace and Grace to you.
