Quarterbacks
Geno Smith, Seattle
Geno Smith is dealing to begin the season. He ranks third in passing yards per game (262.3) and is playing in by far the better fantasy game on this two-game slate. He projects to keep slinging it in this one to keep pace with the Lions in Detroit. The Lions defense is solid but nothing to stay away from. They rank 13th in Dropback EPA Allowed.
Jared Goff, Detroit
The Lions' offensive environment is a strong one to bet on. They ranked fifth in EPA per Play last season and Jared Goff has been solid to begin 2024 as he ranks tenth in passing yards per game (241). Goff is at home in by far the better fantasy game on this two-game slate. But the matchup is a tough one as Mike Macdonald's defense has come to play to begin the season. The Seahawks rank third in EPA/Play Allowed and second in Dropback EPA Allowed.
Tyler Huntley, Miami
Tyler Huntley has dual-threat ability. He's run for 509 yards and 3 touchdowns in his short career. And he now gets the reigns to Mike McDaniels' offense surrounded by Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De'Von Achane. Huntley is a fun tournament play at home against an average Titans defense that ranks 15th in both EPA/Play Allowed and Dropback EPA Allowed. This defense just lost starting cornerback Chidobe Awuzie to injury as well.
Running Backs
De'Von Achane, Miami
De'Von Achane ranks 11th in opportunities per game (20.7) and saw 29 opportunities in a game just two weeks ago. He's at home in a spot where he should find success as a feature back against a Titans defense that ranks 20th in Rush EPA.
Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, Detroit
Both Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery are massive pieces of the Lions' offensive success. Montgomery ranks 15th in opportunities per game (19.7) and Gibbs ranks 18th in opportunities per game (17.7). Both are in play every week and this is no different. But with the success of Seattle's defense to begin the season, the preferred play is Gibbs as his dual-threat game and ability to threaten the edge provides a dynamic component that will be needed.
Ken Walker III, Seattle
Ken Walker III returns from a two-game absence in this one. He turned 23 opportunities into 109 total yards and 1 touchdown in Week 1. Walker is talented and players returning from injury are usually lower owned than they otherwise would be due to recency bias. He's a strong tournament play despite the tough matchup on the road against a Lions defense that ranks fifth in Rush EPA Allowed.
Tony Pollard, Tennessee
Tony Pollard is averaging a solid 17.8 opportunities per game, which ranks 18th most in the entire league. Pollard projects to be a featured player in this one with the Titans actually one-point favorites. The matchup is appealing as the Dolphins defense only ranks 30th in EPA/Play Allowed and 14th in Rush EPA Allowed.
Wide Receivers
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit
Amon-Ra St. Brown ranks second in targets (32), third in receptions (21), and 15th in receiving yards (207). He's picking up right where he left off last season. He's at home in by far the better fantasy game on this two-game slate and is the best wide receiver play in both cash and tournaments.
DK Metcalf, Seattle
DK Metcalf and Geno Smith are clicking to begin the season. Metcalf ranks sixth in receiving yards (262) and has scored twice. He's a strong play and a fun stack with Smith in tournaments.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a supremely talented player who just caught 12 of 16 targets for 117 yards two weeks ago. The Seahawks are facing a tough Lions defense and project to have to keep pace with Detroit in their building. This projects as a Smith-Njigba game all the way around. Play him.
Jameson Williams, Detroit
Jameson Williams is talented and a full-time player this season. He saw games with target totals of 9 and 11 prior to just 3 in Week 3. There are only two games and the Lions are the home team in by far the better one for fantasy.
DeAndre Hopkins, Tennessee
DeAndre Hopkins' playing time and usage have increased in three straight games. He caught 6 of 7 targets for 73 yards and 1 touchdown last week. He's Tennessee's number-one wide receiver who ranked 22nd in the NFL in targets per game (7.9) last season. Hopkins is a strong play in all formats against a Dolphins defense that ranks 30th in both EPA/Play Allowed and Dropback EPA Allowed.
Tyreek Hill, Miami
Tyreek Hill is an elite talent who has the chance to break a game wide-open every time he touches the ball. Tua Tagovailoa's absence is a downgrade but this is just a two-game slate. Hill is a solid play at home against an average Titans defense that ranks 15th in both EPA/Play Allowed and Dropback EPA Allowed. This defense just lost starting cornerback Chidobe Awuzie to injury as well.
Tight Ends
Sam LaPorta, Detroit
Sam LaPorta has started slow this season and suffered a low ankle sprain last week. Yet, he's good to go in this one and is a strong play with some giving into recency bias and others worried about the ankle. Live a little and play LaPorta who is still the same player that burst onto the scene as a rookie catching 86 of 120 targets for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Noah Fant, Seattle
Noah Fant caught all six of his targets for 60 yards last week. He's a talented player and a fun pivot off of Sam LaPorta in tournaments. Fant is no longer in a committee like he was when Pete Carroll was the head coach. Fant has played on more snaps than Tyler Lockett this season.
Team Defenses
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are at home and get to face off against Will Levis. Levis ranks second in interceptions (5), second in sacks taken (15), and has fumbled in every game so far.
Tennessee Titans
This is the game we want to roster a D/ST in and Tyler Huntley is starting essentially fresh off the street.
