When I look at matchups for this week, these are the matchups that look MOST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

• CLEVELAND (@ Washington) – Commanders offense generates 56.3 tackle opps/game (32 rush/22 pass)
• DALLAS (@ Pittsburgh) – Steelers offense generates 55.8 tackle opps/game (34 rush/19 pass)
• ARIZONA (@ San Francisco) – 49ers offense generates 55.5 tackle opps/game (32 rush/21 pass)
• BUFFALO (@ Houston) – Texans offense generates 53.8 tackle opps/game (25 rush/26 pass)
• NY GIANTS (@ Seattle) – Seahawks offense generates 53.5 tackle opps/game (22 rush/29 pass)
• CINCINNATI (vs Baltimore) – Ravens offense generates 53.3 tackle opps/game (34 rush/18 pass)

In contrast, these matchups look LEAST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

• JACKSONVILLE (vs Indianapolis) – Colts offense generates 40.5 tackle opps/game (25 rush/14 pass)
• INDIANAPOLIS (@ Jacksonville) –Jaguars offense generates 42.5 tackle opps/game (22 rush/17.5 pass)
• HOUSTON (vs Buffalo) – Bills offense generates 45.8 tackle opps/game (26.5 rush/18  pass)
• CHICAGO (vs Carolina) – Panthers offense generates 46.3 tackle opps/game (24 rush/20.5 pass)
• LAS VEGAS (@ Denver) –Broncos offense generates 46.8 tackle opps/game (25 rush/21 pass)
• MIAMI (@New England) – Patriots offense generates 47 tackle opps/game (28 rush/16 pass)

You may also want some help picking out matchups for pass rushers. These are some that look MOST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

• WASHINGTON (vs Cleveland) – Browns allowing 4.8 sacks/game and 13.3 QB hits/game
• CAROLINA (@ Chicago) – Bears allowing 4.0 sacks/game and 6.0 QB hits/game
• MINNESOTA (vs NY Jets) – Jets allowing 3.8 sacks/game and 6.3 QB hits/game
• DENVER (vs Las Vegas) – Raiders allowing 3.5 sacks/game and 6.5 QB hits/game
• BUFFALO (@ Houston) – Texans allowing 3.5 sacks/game and 7.0 QB hits/game

In contrast, here are some matchups that look LEAST FAVORABLE from a pass rush perspective:

• KANSAS CITY (vs New Orleans) –Saints allowing 1.0 sack/game and 2.3 QB hits/game
• CINCINNATI (vs Baltimore) – Ravens allowing 1.0 sack/game and 1.8 QB hits/game
• LAS VEGAS (@ Denver) – Broncos allowing 1.0 sack/game and 4.8 QB hits/game
• HOUSTON (vs Buffalo) – Bills allowing 1.3 sacks/game and 3.0 QB hits/game
• JACKSONVILLE (vs Indianapolis) – Colts allowing 1.5 sacks/game and 4.0 QB hits/game
• LA RAMS (vs Green Bay) – Packers allowing 1.5 sacks/game and 4.5 QB hits/game

STAT CREW GRADES

This tab keeps track of tendencies for each stat crew. Each home stadium typically has their own group of stat keepers that are responsible for assigning tackle details (solo vs solo/assist vs assist/assist) on each play. The table at the top keeps track of Tackles vs Opportunity and compares total tackles awarded (solos plus assists) divided by tackle opportunities (rush attempts plus pass completions plus sacks). This gives you an idea of which crews tend to be more generous or less generous in comparison to everybody else.

Home STADIUMS with MOST GENEROUS stat crews this week include:

• LA Rams (vs Green Bay) – 1.333 tackles/opp
• Pittsburgh (vs Dallas) – 1.326 tackles/opp
• New England (vs Miami) – 1.306 tackles/opp
• Denver (vs Las Vegas) – 1.293 tackles/opp
• Washington (vs Cleveland) – 1.280 tackles/opp

Home STADIUMS with LEAST GENEROUS stat crews this week include:

• San Francisco (vs Arizona) – 1.145 tackles/opp
• Jacksonville (vs Indianapolis) – 1.163 tackles/opp
• Minnesota (vs NY Jets) – 1.183 tackles/opp

Some leagues may place a premium on SOLO TACKLES and award more points for them than two assisted tackles. In that case, you’d want to focus on matchups played in STADIUMS that award a high percentage of solo tackles. This week, that would include:

• Jacksonville (vs Indianapolis) – 88.0% solos
• Houston (vs Buffalo) – 84.2% solos
• Pittsburgh (vs Dallas) – 82.1% solos
• Washington (vs Cleveland) – 81.0% solos

In other cases, you may not want to differentiate between a solo or an assist and want to just focus on total tackles. STADIUMS this week that tend to award the highest percentage of ASSISTS per opportunity are:                                                                                        

• LA Rams (vs Green Bay) – 62.7% assists
• New England (vs Miami) – 53.7% assists
• Denver (vs Las Vegas) – 53.3% assists
• Cincinnati (vs Baltimore) – 51.0% assists
• Pittsburgh (vs Dallas) – 50.5% assists
