SCHEDULE TAB

When I look at matchups for this week, these are the matchups that look MOST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • TAMPA BAY (vs Washington) – Commanders offense generates 54.8 tackle opps/game (31 rush/21.5 pass)
  • GREEN BAY (at Philadelphia) – Eagles offense generates 54.7 tackle opps/game (35 rush/17 pass)
  • WASHINGTON (at Tampa Bay) – Buccaneers offense generates 54.0 tackles opps/game (28 rush/24 pass)

In contrast, these matchups look LEAST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • DENVER (at Buffalo) – Bills offense generates 47.9 tackle opps/game (27 rush/19 pass)
  • HOUSTON (vs LA Chargers) - Chargers offense generates 48.4 tackle opps/game (25.5 rush/19 pass)

You may also want some help picking out matchups for pass rushers. These are some that look MOST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • LA CHARGERS (at Houston) – Texans offense allowing 3.3 sacks/game and 6.8 QB hits/game
  • LA RAMS (vs Minnesota) – Vikings offense allowing 2.9 sacks/game and 5.8 QB hits/game
  • BALTIMORE (vs Pittsburgh) - Steelers offense allowing 2.8 sacks/game and 6.9 QB hits/game
  • HOUSTON (vs LA Chargers) - Chargers offense allowing 2.8 sacks/game and 6.7 QB hits/game

In contrast, here are some matchups that look LEAST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • DENVER (at Buffalo) – Bills offense allowing .9 sacks/game and 3.1 QB hits/game
  • PHILADELPHIA (vs Green Bay) – Packers offense allowing 1.2 sacks/game and 4.2 QB hits/game
  • BUFFALO (vs Denver) – Broncos offense allowing 1.5 sacks/game and 3.5 QB hits/game
  • PITTSBURGH (at Baltimore) – Ravens offense allowing 1.6 sacks/game and 3.3 QB hits/game

STAT CREW GRADES

This tab keeps track of tendencies for each stat crew. Each home stadium typically has its own group of stat keepers responsible for assigning tackle details (solo vs solo/assist vs assist/assist) on each play. The table at the top keeps track of Tackles vs Opportunity and compares total tackles awarded (solos plus assists) divided by tackle opportunities (rush attempts plus pass completions plus sacks). This gives you an idea of which crews tend to be more generous or less generous in comparison to everybody else.

Home STADIUMS with MOST GENEROUS stat crews this week include:

  • LA Rams (vs Minnesota) - 1.258 tackles/opp
  • Philadelphia (vs Green Bay) - 1.226 tackles/opp
  • Buffalo (vs Denver) - 1.226 tackles/opp

Home STADIUMS with LEAST GENEROUS stat crews this week include:

  • Tampa Bay (vs Washington) - 1.185 tackles/opp
  • Houston (vs LA Chargers) - 1.191 tackles/opp
  • Baltimore (vs Pittsburgh) - 1.192 tackles/opp

Some leagues may place a premium on SOLO TACKLES and award more points for them than two assisted tackles. In that case, you'd want to focus on matchups played in STADIUMS that award a high percentage of solo tackles. This week, that would include:

  • Houston (vs LA Chargers) - 79.0% solos
  • Buffalo (vs Denver) - 74.5% solos
  • Tampa Bay (vs Washington) - 74.1% solos

In other cases, you may not want to differentiate between a solo or an assist and want to just focus on total tackles. STADIUMS this week that tend to award the highest percentage of ASSISTS per opportunity are:

  • LA Rams (vs Minnesota) - 53.1% assists
  • Philadelphia (vs Green Bay) - 49.9% assists
  • Buffalo (vs Denver) - 48.1% assists

Hopefully this helps give you some useful information. Please reach out with any questions or feedback.
