Let's take a quick look at a few linebackers, defensive linemen, and defensive backs who are either good grab-and-stash types or those you should target in trades. I hope you enjoy the article and that it opens your eyes to some of the gems on your leagues' waiver wires!
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Anfernee Orji, New Orleans
For a few months there, I thought Jaylan Ford was the heir apparent to Demario Davis for the Saints' linebacker corps, but enter Orji, who broke out with 10 total tackles on Monday Night Football against the Chiefs. With Davis back in the lineup but with both Willie Gay Jr and Pete Werner out, Orji got 87% of the defensive snaps. The undrafted second-year pro out of Vanderbilt should be rostered in larger formats, seeing that Davis is long in the tooth and Werner has been a shell of his former self.
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Devin Bush, Cleveland
With Jordan Hicks sidelined, Bush stepped in and got 93% of the snaps. Granted, it was a blowout, but he actually out-snapped Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah Bush posted a very respectable 10 total stops and broke up a pass. Somehow Bush is still just 26 years old, too, so perhaps he has a few years left in him, as Hicks is six years his senior. Lots of tackles to go around for this Cleveland defense. Take a look.
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Winston Reid, Cleveland
I would be remiss if I didn't also mention Bush's running mate, Reid. In just 27 snaps, Reid came through with four solos, four assists, two pass breakups, and a half sack. Those numbers aren't sustainable, but definitely worthy of mentioning here as someone you might want to keep your eyes on and/or just add to your taxi squad if you have the room.
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Mack Wilson Sr., Arizona
We'll add a fourth linebacker mention here. I know I've highlighted him here before, but he continues to show up on my smaller leagues' free agent lists. He's got double-digit fantasy points in all games but one this season and is definitely the Robin to Kyzir White's Batman. He's really filling up the stat sheet and has some nice upcoming matchups. If you need a solid LB3 with some upside, grab him now before he's gone.
Dynasty Sleeper: DL Yaya Diaby, Tampa Bay
Look, this position is super shallow yet again, so you really need to be on the lookout for diamonds in the rough. Diaby has shown flashes before, and while he hasn't necessarily been en fuego this season, he has back-to-back games of nine points each. And what's best is that he's doing it in different ways. Two weeks ago, he posted a sack and a forced fumble. This past week, he had five total tackles. Playing against Jake Haener and the Saints next week could be juicy.

Dynasty Sleeper: DL Anfernee Jennings, New England
Like Diaby, Jennings has been getting it done in various ways over the past few weeks. He's been in double digits each of the past three weeks' worth of action and is both making big plays and volume tackling. The Pats are known to rotate all of their linemen, but Jennings has been getting the most snaps out of the group. He's got a nice size/speed combo pedigree, and the Patriots defense has some intriguing matchups in the middle of the season. Check out some of Jennings' best moves here!
Dynasty Sleeper: DT Kobie Turner, LA Rams
If you're in a league that separates the two linemen positions, it's quite possible that he's still rostered, but if your league combines them, he's probably available. He's gotten off to a slow start this season, but busted out with 20-plus points this past weekend against the Packers. He was pegged as the heir apparent to the great Aaron Donald, but perhaps all the double-teams and pressure got to him? Either way, this past week could be an indicator of big things to come. He's on bye this week, so if you're grabbing him now, be prepared to wait until Week 7 to plug him in against the now-hapless Raiders.
Dynasty Sleeper: DB DeShon Elliott, Pittsburgh
The Steelers have to be a little disappointed with Patrick Queen, who only has 17 solo stops thus far this season. Elliott has been playing closer to the line of scrimmage with Minkah Fitzpatrick playing a true center field type of position and has 22 solos. If you can find the rare "box safety", they always have nice high floors due to the volume of tackles. The big plays may be a bit more rare, but you can bank on 4-5 solos and a few assists every week.
Dynasty Sleeper: DB Evan Williams, Green Bay
The Packers started last week's tilt against the Rams with three safeties, one of whom was this rookie out of Oregon. He played 100% of the defensive snaps (Javon Bullard only got 73%) and finished the contest with four solos, six helpers, and a pair of passes defended. If this trend continues, you need to get this guy rostered, even if it means stashing him on your taxi squad.
Dynasty Sleeper: Zyon McCollum, Tampa Bay
The Buc corners have always been solid fantasy producers. With Carlton Davis now in Detroit, it opened the door for McCollum, who posted 20 fantasy points this past week against the Falcons. Now, that number may have been inflated since Kirk Cousins threw the ball a billion times, but rest assured, McCollum seems to be a pass deflection artist and will chip in with enough tackles to make him a quality start in leagues that separate safety and cornerback.
