IDP streaming is essential for staying competitive in your leagues. Streaming involves analyzing weekly matchups and playing different players with the best potential outcomes each week. In this edition, we will examine the top IDP streaming IDL and Edge options.
Week 8 was tough for streaming, with George Karlaftis as our only hit. Now it is time to look forward to Week 9. We are at the season's midway point, and you must stay vigilant. Here are the top IDP streaming IDL and Edge matchups for Week 9.
IDP Streaming Option: IDL B.J. Hill, Cincinnati Bengals
Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders - Ranked 22nd in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Hill is a solid defensive tackle. He provides a high tackle floor with pass-rushing upside weekly, though he does not often convert his pass-rush attempts. Hill is coming off an impressive three-game stretch in which he has racked up 14 tackles and three passes defended. He also has ten pressures in his last four games.
Hill will have a great opportunity to convert some of those pressures into points in Week 9. The Bengals play the Raiders, who have allowed the fourth-most sacks on the season with 25. Hill still plays a dominant amount of snaps as a big fella and should be a solid IDP streaming option for Week 9.
IDP Streaming Option: IDL T'Vondre Sweat, Tennessee Titans
Matchup: New England Patriots - Ranked 31st in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Sweat has been clogging lanes consistently since Week 3. Between Weeks 3 and 8, Sweat has averaged just over four tackles per game. He has not added anything into the sack column yet, but he has three separate games with at least two pressures. Sweat is an IDP streaming option due to his floor.
The Patriots lost Drake Maye early last week to a concussion, and Jacoby Brissett was less than efficient through the air. As a result (and because they had a lead), the Patriots ground the clock and ran the ball 20 times with Rhamondre Stevenson. With Brissett likely making another start, the Patriots should have a similar game plan straight into the gut of Sweat. Sweat's floor makes him a solid IDP streaming option for Week 9.

IDP Streaming Option: EDGE Arden Key, Tennessee Titans
Matchup: New England Patriots - Ranked 31st in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Key has become the Titans' second-best edge rusher, with Harold Landry III obviously at the top. He has dominated snaps, playing 70% of the Titans' defensive snaps. Key has been contributing at an Edge1 level for the last two weeks. He has eight tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble during that span. Key has been incredibly explosive this season. Watch how quickly he gets off the edge here in their Week 8 matchup with the Lions:

Key has a great matchup to stay hot against the Patriots. They have allowed 27 sacks on the season, bad enough for second-most. Brissett, as mentioned earlier, will likely get the start. This makes Arden Key a great IDP streaming option.
IDP Streaming Option: EDGE Dorance Armstrong, Washingon Commanders
Matchup: New York Giants - Ranked 32nd in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Armstong was signed in the off-season to fill the departures of Chase Young and Montez Sweat—a tough act to follow. He has not been a world-beater but has shown flashes of potential in good matchups. Between Weeks 3-5, Armstrong dropped nine tackles, two-and-a-half sacks, and a forced fumble.

He also has 16 pressures over his last six four games.
The Giants offensive line looked like it had improved to start the season after annually being one of the worst groups since Daniel Jones's arrival. They only allowed nine sacks over the first four games. Unfortunately, they have allowed 16 sacks over their last four. Armstrong has an excellent chance to take down Jones for a sack, making him a strong IDP streaming option.
IDP Sleeper Option: IDL Jer'Zhan Newton, Washington Commanders
Matchup: New York Giants - Ranked 32nd in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Speaking of defensive linemen on the Commanders, it is time to start looking into Newton as an IDP streaming option. He has played on 54.5% of the Comanders' defensive snaps over the past three games and has six tackles and a fumble recovery to speak from it. The Commanders lost star interior lineman Jonathan Allen for the season and will need Newton to step up.
As mentioned above, the Giants's offensive line has had more holes than Swiss cheese over the past four weeks. Cameron Heyward just dropped six tackles and a pass defended on the Giants in Week 8. Newton has a great matchup to be a sneaky play for Week 9.
IDP Sleeper Option: EDGE Laiatu Latu, Indianapolis Colts
Matchup: Minnesota Vikings - Ranked 17th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Latu has not been the beast many hoped for when the Colts drafted him. Still, he has been modestly productive. Latu has 14 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a pass defended while playing on 55% of the Colts' defensive snaps. Latu had his best game of the season in Week 5 against the Bears, where he dropped six tackles and a sack.
The Bears and the Vikings have allowed the same number of sacks on the season, 22. That is bad enough for the sixth-worst in the NFL; the Vikings have been increasingly bad recently, with 11 sacks allowed over the past three games. Latu has a decent chance at a blow-up game like Week 5, making him a sleeper IDP streaming option.
Final Thoughts
For Week 9, we are taking a more conservative approach with our IDL position, targeting players with a high tackle floor. Sometimes, you must add consistent yet unspectacular players to your lineup to ensure points in a must-win week. High-tackles IDLs are these guys. Targeting the Giants right now is an excellent idea, considering how poorly they have been playing, so we have two players from that matchup listed. Good luck in Week 9, and thanks for reading.
