The NFL is back. And with it, a fire hose of information and practice reports. August is when we see the most significant swings in player value. You should pay close attention to all the news of training camp and adjust your player valuations accordingly. Some will minimize the importance of the news coming out this time of year. They will correctly point out that a highlight play or some issues with drops do not mean much in the grand scheme. The truth is that it is exceptionally difficult to separate the signal from the noise at this time of year. The emergence of “aggregation” accounts on social media, which gain followers through sensationalizing headlines and over-hyping highlights, only adds to the challenge.
One area where Footballguys is the best in the business is helping you cut through this noise to figure out what really matters. I highly recommend reading all the training camp reports we put together weekly to help you stay updated on the latest news. The first will be out soon.
The news moves fast this time of year. I will pore through the latest news and constantly update the player values in the Dynasty Trade Value Chart. Please check the tool for those ever-changing numbers. The values listed below are current as of the morning of August 5th. If you return to this article later in the month, be aware that some values will be outdated.
The August Dynasty Trade Value Chart article will focus on the players whose value is rising based on the first couple of weeks of camp.

Tua Tagovailoa
Situations do not get much better than the one Tagovialoa is now locked into for the next five years. He is attached to one of the sharpest young offensive minds in the NFL. Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De'Von Achane are under contract for at least the next three seasons.
Jordan Love
Love's four-year, $220M contract extension does not move the needle too much regarding his dynasty value. Everyone expected this one to get done. However, it is yet another box checked for a player who has seen a meteoric rise over the past 12 months. The Packers have quietly collected an extreme amount of young skill position talent on rookie deals (Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, and MarShawn Lloyd). Green Bay could boast one of the most exciting young offenses in the NFL over the next few years.
Justin Fields
Before training camp, I valued Fields as having approximately a 25% chance of winning the starting job this season over Russell Wilson. Based on the early buzz out of Pittsburgh, I now have Fields as a slight favorite to start in 2024. We know Fields will put up fantasy numbers as long as he is on the field—he finished QB6 and QB12 in fantasy points per game in 2022 and 2023, respectively. This is a situation where we should be watching the news out of Pittsburgh closely for the rest of the month and aggressively adjusting our valuation of Fields accordingly.
Deshaun Watson
Watson may have another rough season in Cleveland and be finished as an NFL starter within the next year or two. He is not without risk as a dynasty asset. However, he also has more than enough upside to be considered a Buy at his current valuation. We have seen Watson produce huge fantasy numbers when healthy. All indications are the Browns will be a pass-heavy offense built around Watson. Plus, he is likely to do significant damage with his legs. Watson is another player to watch closely over the next month. He is worth targeting if the vibes out of training camp around his performance continue to be positive.
