Disclaimer

These contests are intended to be fun as you’re watching the game. It’s incredibly difficult to get a real edge as there are so few options, and in MME contests, there are often many duplicate lineups. One play or one penalty can change the entire outcome of the game.

Game Strategy

  • Over/Under: 50.5
  • Spread: Rams -2.5
  • Rams Implied Team Total: 26.5
  • Dolphins Implied Team Total: 24

This projects as a high-scoring affair between two potent passing offenses. Fade D/STs and Kickers.

Los Angeles Rams Showdown Players

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford - Flex

Matthew Stafford ranks tenth in passing yards per game (246.1), and the Rams offense ranks fifth in Early Down Pass Frequency (EDPF). He has all his weapons back, and his offensive line is getting healthier, too. He's at home in a favorable matchup against a Dolphins defense that ranks 22nd in EPA/Play Allowed and 24th in Dropback EPA Allowed.

Running Back

Kyren Williams - Captain/Flex

Kyren Williams ranks fourth in the league in opportunities per game (23.3) and second in total touchdowns (10). He played on 99% of the offensive snaps last week. He's at home, the Rams are 2.5-point favorites, and the matchup is exploitable against a Dolphins defense that ranks 22nd in EPA/Play Allowed and 16th in Rush EPA Allowed.

Wide Receiver

Cooper Kupp - Captain/Flex

Cooper Kupp caught 11 of 14 targets for 104 yards last week. With Puka Nacua's health still a question mark after re-injuring his knee in practice prior to Week 9, Kupp is the preferred target for the Rams in this favorable spot.

Puka Nacua - Flex

Puka Nacua's health is still a question mark after re-injuring his knee in practice prior to Week 9 and then getting ejected early on in last week's game. Yet, he's a tournament option thanks to his elite talent and upside. Just two weeks ago in his return he caught 7 of 9 targets for 106 yards.

Demarcus Robinson - Flex

Demarcus Robinson struggled as a primary target with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp out, but he's settled quite nicely back into that WR3 spot. Robinson has caught two touchdowns in back-to-back games and just caught 6 of 9 targets for 94 yards last week.

Miami Dolphins Showdown Players

Quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa - Flex

Tua Tagovailoa ranks 14th in passing yards per game (237). His matchup isn't one to shy away from against a middle-of-the-pack Rams defense in both EPA/Play Allowed (ranked 15th) and Dropback EPA Allowed (ranked 16th). Tagovailoa will become more appealing if Tyreek Hill is active.

Running Back

De'Von Achane - Captain/Flex

De'Von Achane is the best play in this game and is your preferred captain. Achane has been a dual-threat powerhouse in Tua Tagovailoa's starts. His target totals in those four games: 7, 7, 8, and 8. His averages in those four games: 21 opportunities (would rank seventh) and 133.3 yards (would rank second). The matchup is solid against a Rams defense that ranks 19th in Rush EPA Allowed.

Raheem Mostert - Flex

Raheem Mostert's opportunities in his past three games: 11, 11, and 12. Mostert is a tournament play who scored two touchdowns just two weeks ago and could benefit from additional work if Tyreek Hill isn't able to go.

Wide Receiver

Jaylen Waddle - Flex

Jaylen Waddle will be squarely on the radar if Tyreek Hill is inactive. Waddle has had a disappointing season but is talented and would be the clear-cut alpha WR1 without Hill. The matchup is fine against a middle-of-the-pack Rams defense in both EPA/Play Allowed (ranked 15th) and Dropback EPA Allowed (ranked 16th).

Malik Washington - Large Field Tournament Flex

If Tyreek Hill is inactive, Malik Washington becomes an intriguing large-field tournament play. Washington is a talented rookie who has played 36%, 25%, and 34% of the offensive snaps over the past three weeks. Braxton Berrios is out for the season, and Odell Beckham Jr is barely playing. It would be shocking if Washington didn't play on the majority of offensive snaps to help replace Hill if he does end up being ruled out.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith - Flex

Jonnu Smith ranks third on the Dolphins in targets (40) and receptions (30). Both of these marks are ahead of Jaylen Waddle. Smith is a mainstay of the Dolphins passing attack and would receive a boost in value if Tyreek Hill is ruled out.
