These contests are intended to be fun as you’re watching the game. It’s incredibly difficult to get a real edge as there are so few options, and in MME contests, there are often many duplicate lineups. One play or one penalty can change the entire outcome of the game.
Game Strategy
- Over/Under: 44.5
- Spread: Packers -1.5
- Raiders Implied Team Total: 21.5
- Packers Implied Team Total: 23
This projects to be a close game between two average teams. All combinations are in play but I like leaning into the home team in this one with Jimmy Garoppolo expected back from his concussion.
Injury Roundup
- Jimmy Garoppolo is in concussion protocol but is expected to be cleared.
Captain Consideration:
Las Vegas Raiders
Quarterback
Jimmy Garoppolo - Captain/Flex
In Weeks 1-3 under Jimmy Garoppolo the Raiders' offense ranked 16th in EPA/Play and ninth in Dropback EPA. The passing offense is working under Garoppolo and he gets to play at home against a Packers defense that ranks 27th in EPA/Play Allowed, 22nd in Dropback EPA Allowed, and 30th in Success Rate.
Running Back/Wide Receiver/Tight End/Defense/Kicker Choices
Davante Adams - Captain/Flex
Davante Adams remains that dude. He ranks third in targets per game (12.5), fourth in receptions per game (8.3), and ninth in receiving yards per game (99.3). He's a must-play at home in this favorable matchup.
Josh Jacobs - Captain/Flex
Josh Jacobs is heating up after totaling 139 yards and 1 TD last week. He ranks sixth in the NFL in opportunities per game (21.8) and has an awesome matchup here at home against a Packers defense that ranks 27th in EPA/Play Allowed, 26th in Rush EPA Allowed, and 30th in Success Rate.
Jakobi Meyers - Captain/Flex
Jakobi Meyers is thriving in Las Vegas playing for Josh McDaniels, his former offensive coordinator in New England. Meyers ranks 16th in targets per game (8.7), 16th in receptions per game (6), 23rd in receiving yards per game (66.3), and 15th in touchdown catches per game (0.67). He's a logical contrarian captain play.
Green Bay Packers
Quarterback
Jordan Love - Captain/Flex
Jordan Love is the QB8 in DraftKings points per game (22.1) aided by two rushing touchdowns. The dual-threat Love will continue to have ups and downs but he has a favorable matchup here to keep it going against a Raiders defense that ranks 29th in EPA/Play Allowed, 29th in Dropback EPA Allowed, and 26th in Success Rate.
Running Back/Wide Receiver/Tight End/Defense/Kicker Choices
Christian Watson - Captain/Flex
Christian Watson made his season debut last week but was on a snap count. This is the game we should finally see Watson unleashed. He simply moves at a different speed than everyone else on the field. As an elite athlete, he has high upside in this favorable matchup.
Aaron Jones - Flex
Like Christian Watson, Aaron Jones was also limited in his return last week. But Jones has already reminded us of his exciting talent and athleticism this season. In Week 1, Jones turned just 13 opportunities into 127 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Granted, that performance was against the awful Bears defense but this matchup is quite favorable as well. Jones gets a Raiders defense that ranks 29th in EPA/Play Allowed, 27th in Rush EPA Allowed, and 26th in Success Rate.
Romeo Doubs - Flex
Romeo Doubs and Jordan Love seem to be building a solid rapport and connection. Over the past two weeks, Doubs has caught 14 of 25 targets for 168 yards and 1 touchdown. With Christian Watson returning to full strength and Jayden Reed involved as well, Doubs won't be high-owned. He's more talented than given credit for and worth playing.
Luke Musgrave - Flex
Luke Musgrave has cleared concussion protocol and will play on Monday night. Prior to his injury, Musgrave had played on 75%, 88%, and 86% of the offensive snaps, respectively. He's Green Bay's clear-cut TE1 and ranks third on the team in targets (16) and is tied for second on the team in receptions (12).
