We have arrived at the last week before the holidays. If there ever was a week to pay attention, it is this one. You are running out of time to make the league-winning adjustments to your team. Some leagues are approaching their trade deadline, others have clear-cut favorites and cellar-dwellers looking to solidify their positions, whether it is tanking or improving. You must have a sense of urgency to improve your team. IDP is a difficult type of fantasy football that to find information on, but Footballguys has you covered! Here you go! The IDP Stock Market Week 11 is here! RING THE BELL!
The Fortune 5
LB Nate Landman, Atlanta Falcons
We start with the first of two Falcons linebackers that made the top 5 this week. Nate Landman may not have the notoriety of his counterpart, but he has been producing like an LB1 in this stretch of the season. He has seven straight games of 8+ tackles and is firmly the man in the middle since Troy Andersen has been injured. It’s one thing to play snaps; it’s another to produce in these opportunities, and Landman has done just that. The last game was arguably his best of the season, producing eight tackles, one sack, and an interception.
LB Robert Spillane, Las Vegas Raiders
I am a big proponent of certain teams producing two linebackers worthy of LB1 designation, and the Raiders are one of these teams. To start the year, we saw Divine Deablo pick up right where he left off with an injury, leading many to believe he was the only man to have in this unit. It appears he has cooled off, but Spillane has been a consistent machine there and has already eclipsed the 80-tackle threshold. He is showing that he can affect the game in many ways. He has 2.5 sacks and three interceptions in addition to these monstrous tackle numbers. Spillane is the man to have in this defense, and if you can acquire him, I would move forward on it now before it’s too late (if it isn’t already).
S Talanoa Hufanga, San Francisco 49ers
After a very disappointing start to the season, Hufanga seems to have finally found his footing, and it benefits managers who held on to him. Last season’s waiver wire darling, Hufanga, was expected to take the next step this season into the top tier of young safeties. 17 tackles in his first five games hurt managers more than it helped. Since Week 5, he has 34 tackles. This is the type of production we expected, and whatever September sickness he seemed to have caught, he has shaken off and is back into the category of ascending fantasy assets in IDP. Hufanga is still a player you can build your DB group around.
LB Kaden Elliss, Atlanta Falcons
To the second and likely more popular Falcons linebacker, Ellis was a noteworthy signing this offseason when the former Saints player signed to finally take on a more important role with the Falcons. He has played all but four snaps this season and, in these opportunities, is producing at a consistent rate. He has 73 total tackles, and if you were savvy enough to take a chance on him early, the return has been more than expected. If you are a contender, make an offer to get him. He is 28 years old and is the no-doubt starter in this role and one who can improve as he familiarizes himself with the responsibility.
S Derwin James, Los Angeles Chargers
James has had a weird career. Sometimes he seems like the best defensive player on the field, and then there are the injuries. If you can handle the possibility of him not playing every game, he is the best player to execute that strategy with. Derwin James is a league winner in every format. He is a prime candidate for dynasty managers to buy now while he is still affordable. He is still ascending into his prime, and the tackle numbers will improve. He is having a good season, teetering on great if he remains healthy and produces at this clip (which he has proven he can sustain).
