Welcome to Week 10 of the 2022 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. Topics are now split into separate features.
This week's roundtable features these four topics:
- Thanksgiving Table (see below)
- Play of the Year Candidates
- Tryptophan Specials
- Deshaun Watson's Return
Thanksgiving Table
Matt Waldman: A Happy Thanksgiving to all of you participating this week. At our holiday table, we often mention something we're thankful for. Whether it's about a player, football on a broader level, or fantasy football, share something that you're thankful for.
Jeff Haseley: I am thankful for my wife and family, who allow me to spend hours a day in some capacity or another creating content for others to benefit from and enjoy. I am also thankful for the ability and freedom to work from my home office. After years of commuting an hour to and from work, it is incredibly beneficial and efficient to not have to consume that daily grind.
Waldman: Amen.
Ben Cummins: I’m thankful for the rise of best ball. I got in as many low-cost drafts as I could this offseason to give myself as many chances as possible to take down a tournament during the fantasy playoffs and I’m getting so excited to watch it all play out here in a few weeks. Added fantasy football rooting interest is always a good thing!
Christian Williams: This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for creative, progressive-minded offensive coaches and their ability to keep rushing attacks alive. While every sign indicated that the running game was slowly fading from the NFL, many teams have gotten creative in how they scheme up designed runs.
ROUNDTABLE
The Chicago Bears have turned one of the NFL's most dominant rushing attacks into nearly 30 points per game since their mini-bye. The Las Vegas Raiders are at their best when Josh Jacobs touches the football almost 30 times per game. The creativity and commitment to the run in the world of two-high shells will put defenses on their heels and allow the back-and-forth between the most intelligent football minds to continue.
Waldman: What is dead will never die...no...more apt: winter is coming.
Williams: It's here!
Kevin Coleman: I am very thankful to write and create content for this site. It has been a pleasure to learn from all the fantastic writers here at Footballguys and to help out loyal readers win their fantasy leagues. Every analyst at this site has taught me something new this season, and I am eternally grateful.
Waldman: We're glad you're here.
Craig Lakins: Sometimes I have to take a step back from the hustle of evaluating NFL Draft prospects or determining who the best DFS plays are to appreciate the talent we get to see each week. I'm thankful to be watching Patrick Mahomes II and Josh Allen in the prime of their careers. Two guys who began their careers with little expectation but have developed into two of the most talented and unique quarterbacks we've ever seen play the position. As the sun seems to be setting on legendary quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, it's exciting to witness the new guard taking their place atop the league.
Jeff Bell: It’s corny, but I am thankful for Footballguys.
Footballguys was the first “brand” that opened my fantasy football world beyond sites like ESPN and NFL. The Audible became part of my weekly ritual and routine. The opportunity to work with individuals I have looked up to for years and alongside some of my best friends is a blessing.
Waldman: I'm thankful to those of you reading, listening, and subscribing to the work I'm involved with. Bottom line: You make everything else go. I appreciate you.
