As we race toward August, Footballguys.com will look at one team per day with our extremely in-depth Team Reports and our quick-hitting Team Mood and Players We're In and Out On, where we check out the overall mood of each team's offense and let you know the players we are in on (because they are great values at the cost it takes to acquire them) and who we're out on (because they are too expensive and won't have a good return on that investment).

NY Jets, Team Mood
- Good - 2
- Neutral - 7
- Bad - 2
Staffers in a Good Mood
- Christian Williams: The only weakness is the quarterback, and Zach Wilson should take a giant step forward with the weapons around him.
- Craig Lakins: They're following the right template for success by surrounding their young QB with playmakers and a solid offensive line.
Staffers in a Neutral Mood
- Chad Parsons: Everything hinges on Zach Wilson elevating the offense, but the weapons have improved substantially over the past two offseasons.
- Sam Wagman: Joe Douglas did the work, surrounding Zach Wilson with the weapons. Now it’s up to Wilson to take advantage.
- Jeff Haseley: But this is a team on the rise that could surprise. The pieces are coming together, but the AFC is loaded.
- Jeff Bell: The individual pieces suggest a major step forward.
- Ryan Weisse: All of the pieces are falling into place. Now we wait and see if Zach Wilson can improve on a bad rookie year.
- Zareh Kantzabedian: With Zach Wilson under center, it's difficult to get excited about the receivers.
- Ben Cummins: Zach Wilson will need to take a step forward but there is optimism that can occur with added weapons on offense.
Staffers in a Bad Mood
- Jason Wood: Zach Wilson isn't the guy, and it's not clear Saleh or the coordinators are quality hires, either.
- Andy Hicks: Zach Wilson needs to have improved exponentially after an awful rookie season.
Players We're In On at Cost
- Breece Hall - 4
- No One - 2
- Corey Davis - 2
- Elijah Moore - 2
- Garrett Wilson - 1
Reasons to be In on Breece Hall
- Jeff Bell: Talented enough to be the next rookie to break in as an RB1 immediately.
- Ryan Weisse: Hall's draft capital isn't a huge ask, and he is the best back on this team. He will be a steal if he comes in and gets 250 touches.
- Craig Lakins: He has a three-down skill set, and the Jets used a high second-round pick on him. He should have a feature role in the offense.
- Ben Cummins: Hall was an outstanding prospect and can be had at a reasonable cost for a team likely to lean on their running backs.
Reasons to be In on No One
- Jason Wood: Avoiding the league's worst offenses is usually a smart draft-day strategy.
- Chad Parsons: Without an elite quarterback, I struggle to elevate any of the quality pass-catchers. I like Breece Hall, but he is appropriately priced.
Reasons to be In on Corey Davis
- Sam Wagman: Davis is the only X-caliber WR on this team. Fully recovered from core surgery and is coming off three games of 90+ yards last season. Look for him late.
- Andy Hicks: Davis was a dominant WR1 on rare occasions last year. Fully fit, he appears the only one here capable in 2022.
Reasons to be In on Elijah Moore
- Jeff Haseley: He is right on the cusp of being a value, but I envision another step forward this season, catapulting him into top 20 status.
- Zareh Kantzabedian: Moore is one of the future superstars of the league and should be bet on for his talent alone.
Reasons to be In on Garrett Wilson
- Christian Williams: He was the better prospect between him and Elijah Moore and could step in and be the team's No. 1 immediately.
Players We're Out On at Cost
- Garrett Wilson - 3
- Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore - 1
- Elijah Moore - 1
- Michael Carter - 3
- Everyone - 1
- No One (Sorta) - 1
- Corey Davis - 1
Reasons to be Out on Garrett Wilson
- Chad Parsons: The assumption he will elevate immediately beyond Davis and Moore is partly the fault of occasional phenoms like Odell Beckham, JaMarr Chase, etc. being instant producers.
- Jeff Haseley: While Wilson may evolve into a talented receiver for the Jets, it won't happen immediately. He may not be as fantasy-ready as we think.
- Andy Hicks: The Jets appear to be the anti-Pittsburgh at drafting receivers. This year's high pick, Wilson, has a long cycle of organizational failures to overcome.
Reasons to be Out on Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore
- Ryan Weisse: I have no faith in Zach Wilson, which makes it hard to trust either of these guys at their current cost.
Reasons to be Out on Elijah Moore
- Jeff Bell: Has emerged as the most expensive receiving option but could end up third in targets.
Reasons to be Out on Michael Carter
- Christian Williams: His role should be cut significantly with the arrival of Breece Hall.
- Sam Wagman: His role could be minute with the drafting of Breece Hall.
- Craig Lakins: He's being rightfully drafted in the range of a handcuff running back, but he's going ahead of other handcuffs with more upside.
Reasons to be Out on Everyone
- Jason Wood: Avoiding the league's worst offenses is usually a smart draft-day strategy.
Reasons to be Out on No One (Sorta)
- Zareh Kantzabedian: Everybody is cheap enough to where I'm not out on anybody, but selecting Zach Wilson doesn't leave me feeling excited.
Reasons to be Out on Corey Davis
- Ben Cummins: With Moore, Wilson, and even Berrios in the target picture, I have no interest in Corey Davis in any format.
