New York, Team Mood
- Good - 2
- Neutral - 8
- Bad - 6
Staffers in a Good Mood
- Phil Alexander: The offense has nowhere to go but up with Brian Daboll at the helm and a healthy group of skill players.
- Clayton Gray: What's not to like about a better scheme, a better offensive line, and healthier skill position players?
Staffers in a Neutral Mood
- Dan Hindery: Very wide range of outcomes with some talented pieces but a lot of question marks.
- Dave Kluge: There are a lot of pieces on this offense but they might not fit together. Jones could take a step forward, but it's more likely that he's already shown us who he is.
- Sigmund Bloom: But Good++ compared to last year. Anything is better than last year and the whole organization should feel a weight lifted.
- Jeff Haseley: They have potential with Brian Daboll's offense but it all lies on Daniel Jones. The success of the offense hinges on Jones. So goes Jones, so goes the offense.
- Jeff Bell: On paper, this offense has pieces, an elite running back, depth through the wide receiver corps, Evan Neal at tackle, and an innovator in Brian Daboll.
- Christian Williams: It is fair to be cautiously optimistic for the offense, but everything falls on Daniel Jones to take another step forward.
- Ben Cummins: Daniel Jones is reportedly healthy and Saquon Barkley is stating he’s more confident in his health. Brian Daboll makes this offense intriguing.
- Jordan McNamara: New head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen deserve lenience.
Staffers in a Bad Mood
- Jason Wood: Brian Daboll has a long history of underwhelming play-calling before he got to coach Josh Allen. He's no miracle worker.
- Sam Wagman: But there is room for hope with the coaching and front office additions.
- Andy Hicks: There has been way too much turnover and poor hiring decisions. The best way to destroy a young quarterback is to fill his head with new ideas every offseason.
- Ryan Weisse: Too much turnover but not at quarterback, where they need it most.
- James Brimacombe: Maybe between bad and neutral. I like the idea of Daniel Jones and a healthy Saquon Barkley and Kenny Golladay. Just doesn't feel like it will happen.
- Craig Lakins: There is a reason for optimism with Brian Daboll's arrival, but I need to see it to believe that there will be added fantasy value here.
Players We're In On at Cost
- Saquon Barkley - 6
- Kadarius Toney - 5
- Daniel Jones - 4
- Kenny Golladay - 3
- Sterling Shepard - 1
- No One - 1
Reasons to be In on Saquon Barkley
- Dan Hindery: Barkley should bounce back to at least high-end RB2 PPR numbers. WanDale Robinson is worth a shot in the final rounds of deeper drafts.
- Sam Wagman: Barkley is underrated in this offense and a return to fantasy glory is not out of the question.
- Jeff Haseley: After being completely out on him last year, I am excited to see him two years removed from ACL recovery.
- Jeff Bell: The layup answer. The wide receiver room is ambiguous but talented.
- Ben Cummins: He has the talent to finish as the RB1 in fantasy. He’s telling us he’s healthy and confident in his physical abilities again.
Reasons to be In on Kadarius Toney
- Dave Kluge: Toney, though oft-injured as a rookie, showed some incredible flashes. His ceiling is as high as any Year 2 wide receiver.
- Ben Cummins: A value option in PPR leagues.
- Phil Alexander: The massive ceiling Toney flashed as a rookie is worth chasing at his cost.
- Jordan McNamara: Toney performed like a star in a small rookie season sample. He has an elite ceiling.
- Clayton Gray: It's always fun to draft players who are fun to watch.
Reasons to be In on Daniel Jones
- James Brimacombe: If the Giants are going to turn it around it really comes down to Daniel Jones and if he can take the next step.
- Craig Lakins: Jones is worth a late-round dart throw if you think new coach Brian Daboll can improve his play.
- Phil Alexander: A low-cost/high-upside target as your QB2 in Best Ball, 2QB, and Superflex leagues.
- Jordan McNamara: I'll agree with Phil - Jones also has upside at his cost.
Reasons to be In on Kenny Golladay
- Jason Wood: One of the easiest fades last year now becomes a value play because he's being drafted like a backup instead of the likely No. 1 target.
- Sigmund Bloom: Golladay is still a #1 receiver and available in the second half of drafts. In Superflex, Daniel Jones is working with a head coach who unlocked Josh Allen, a quarterback with similar tools.
- Ryan Weisse: He's the cheapest team WR1 in fantasy football.
Reasons to be In on Sterling Shepard
- Christian Williams: Shepard is free, and drafting him isn't necessary, but he should be a weekly start once he returns to 100% following the injury. Saquon is another year post-injury and should be a focal point of the offense.
Reasons to be In on No One
- Andy Hicks: If I look at my fantasy roster and see a New York Giant, I will be disappointed.
Players We're Out On at Cost
- Kenny Golladay - 6
- Saquon Barkley - 3
- Kadarius Toney - 3
- Daniel Jones - 1
- WanDale Robinson - 1
- Sterling Shepard - 1
- No One - 2
Reasons to be Out on Kenny Golladay
- Dan Hindery: Golladay always seems to have something holding him back the last few years. It will be something else this year.
- Dave Kluge: Golladay is looking more and more like a flash in the pan. Being Matthew Stafford's unquestioned WR1 is much easier than carving out a role in a crowded offense.
- Jeff Haseley: Golladay may have enough pride to want to prove the contract he signed was worth it to the team, but even with him, I am a bit skeptical.
- Jeff Bell: We have seen enough. Lacking effort for two injury-plagued seasons.
- Ben Cummins: Golladay doesn't pair well with Daniel Jones' skill set.
- Phil Alexander: Golladay exhibits all the telltale traits of a big-money free-agent wide receiver signing gone wrong. Hard pass.
Reasons to be Out on Saquon Barkley
- Jason Wood: You don't want to use high draft picks from bad teams.
- Andy Hicks: At least there will be value on most Giants, but Saquon Barkley doesn't have that going for him.
- Craig Lakins: I'd much rather have some of the guys that have been going behind Barkley.
Reasons to be Out on Kadarius Toney
- Sam Wagman: Toney may start the season on the PUP list and his presumed replacement was drafted in Wan’Dale Robinson.
- Sigmund Bloom: The new regime might have been ready to move on from Toney earlier in the offseason, and as Sam pointed out, his offseason knee surgery might not have been so minor.
- Christian Williams: The arrival of WanDale Robinson brings ambiguity to Toney's role, and the first impression he left Brian Daboll with has me off of him.
Reasons to be Out on Daniel Jones
- Jason Wood: Unless Daniel Jones can wash away years of bad play, the offense is going to struggle again.
Reasons to be Out on WanDale Robinson
- Ryan Weisse: It's hard to believe he's more than a gadget player.
Reasons to be Out on Sterling Shepard
- James Brimacombe: He once was a productive PPR player that we thought would break out every year. Now battling back from a serious injury, I think his time has come to an end.
Reasons to be Out on No One
- Jordan McNamara: Fortunately no one is too expensive in this offense. I don't think there is an avoid.
- Clayton Gray: There isn't a Giant who is too pricey to at least take a shot on.
