• There are two competing schools of thought on Joe Mixon’s early results.
• The first group of fantasy analysts point to Mixon’s elite usage (leading the NFL in most fantasy opportunity metrics), believing he has merely been unlucky to date and viewing a fantasy breakout as imminent.

Don’t sell Joe Mixon, if anything you should be buying him.

-He still hasn’t scored a TD yet.
-His usage in the receiving game is up a TON from last year
-His rushing usage is similar to last year still.

• The second group of analysts point to Mixon’s abysmal efficiency metrics through three weeks as reason to be down on him.

• The first group may end up being right in the longer term, but the lack of efficiency and generally mediocre play of Mixon has been noted by Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, and we have already seen some adjustments. In Week 3, the Bengals gave up on trying to establish the run early (11 pass plays on the opening drive) and a turn to backup Samaje Perine to close the game out in the fourth quarter (though Mixon’s minor ankle injury may have played a role).
• In Week 4, expect to see much more of Perine and for this to be more of a 60-40 split as opposed to Mixon dominating opportunities like he did the first couple of weeks.
• Through three games with the Dolphins, Tyreek Hill is averaging 21.8 fantasy points per game. With the Dolphins entering the Thursday night matchup as road underdogs and co-star Jaylen Waddle slightly banged up, this should be a high-usage spot for Hill.
• There is also a fun narrative angle at play. Hill has been feuding with Bengals cornerback Eli Apple and appears extra motivated to have a big game in primetime.
