Jacksonville, Team Mood
- Good - 1
- Neutral - 7
- Bad - 1
Staffers in a Good Mood
- Ben Cummins: The coaching upgrade from Urban Meyer to Doug Pederson is massive, and Trevor Lawrence is about to take a major step forward in year two.
Staffers in a Neutral Mood
- Jason Wood: While Pederson is better than Meyer, he may not be the answer. And the roster is still one of the weakest in the league, and Lawrence has an all-time bad rookie year.
- Jeff Haseley: But on the path to good. I think we will see a completely different result with Jacksonville this season. Doug Pederson will get the ship moving in the right direction.
- Chad Parsons: Urban Meyer stink is gone, and 1.01-drafted quarterbacks typically elevate well in Years 2-3.
- Andy Hicks: Jacksonville hasn’t been known for good decision-making. Doug Pedersen went from Super Bowl winner to ousted in a short period of time.
- Christian Williams: Doug Pederson should enhance the floor of the offense, but the ceiling is still a major question mark.
- Ryan Weisse: Overall, the team feels like it's heading in a better direction, but you can't look at this roster and feel good.
- Sam Wagman: The team got rid of Urban Meyer and signed as many free agents as they possibly could, but the pieces still have to gel.
Staffers in a Bad Mood
- Jeff Bell: This was the worst offense in the NFL in 2021. New coach but still has talent questions through the roster.
Players We're In On at Cost
- Christian Kirk - 7
- Trevor Lawrence - 1
- Evan Engram - 1
Reasons to be In on Christian Kirk
- Ben Cummins: Kirk is going to crush playing with Lawrence. He’s a must-target for me in every draft.
- Jason Wood: Overpaid though he may be, he's the unquestioned No. 1 volume option in an offense that should throw 600 times approximately.
- Jeff Haseley: He's in a perfect spot with Trevor Lawrence and should see equal, if not improved, play. He was very quietly the WR26 last year.
- Chad Parsons: If Trevor Lawrence elevates the offense, Kirk is the most likely benefactor. Affordable within the NFL WR1 spectrum.
- Christian Williams: The Pederson offense is best when it's filtering through the slot receiver and tight ends. Kirk should see a large target share.
- Ryan Weisse: I like inexpensive receivers that will lead their team in targets. Kirk fits the bill. If you go running back early, Kirk is the perfect mid-to-late round pick to help your wide receivers.
- Sam Wagman: Kirk is the wide receiver you want to target in this offense. He’s being paid an exorbitant amount of money and should be thrown to in excess.
Reasons to be In on Trevor Lawrence
- Andy Hicks: Lawrence has to play better than a torrid rookie season. He has too much ability not to push for fantasy starter status this year, or he will be a bust.
Reasons to be In on Evan Engram
- Jeff Bell: On a short list of tight ends with a chance to serve as primary receiver.
Players We're Out On at Cost
- Travis Etienne - 4
- James Robinson - 3
- Evan Engram - 1
- Trevor Lawrence - 1
Reasons to be Out on Travis Etienne
- Ben Cummins: Etienne is now routinely being drafted in the third round on Underdog fantasy. That’s too pricey and putting Etienne in the driver’s seat to be one of the most disappointing players in all of fantasy.
- Andy Hicks: Etienne has a higher ADP than he had in his rookie season, despite missing the entire season with a Lisfranc tear.
- Jeff Bell: Pederson has always used a committee. Coming off a major injury, Etienne’s not the naturally skilled receiver many project.
- Sam Wagman: I’m not sure that Travis Etienne deserves the third-round ADP tag that he has been built up to this offseason. He will have to perform at a ceiling to justify that price.
Reasons to be Out on James Robinson
- Jeff Haseley: He's a running back with a torn Achilles. Historically it's nearly a death sentence for fantasy backs. I'm out.
- Chad Parsons: An Achilles injury and Round 1 pick Travis Etienne projected back atop the depth chart.
- Ryan Weisse: The track record for Achilles tears is not great. He won't cost much, but you may just be lighting your pick on fire.
Reasons to be Out on Evan Engram
- Jason Wood: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me five times, and I'm an imbecile.
Reasons to be Out on Trevor Lawrence
- Christian Williams: Even a massive increase in efficiency will have him finishing lower than his ADP of QB18.
