Carolina, Team Mood

  • Good - 2
  • Neutral - 10
  • Bad - 8

Staffers in a Good Mood

  • Tripp Brebner: Two primary options with high floors now with functional quarterback play. What's not to like?
  • Phil Alexander: McCaffrey and Moore are certifiable fantasy studs, and the addition of Baker Mayfield stabilizes their value.

Staffers in a Neutral Mood

  • Christian Williams: Baker Mayfield is a massive upgrade at quarterback and the offensive line additions keep the cautious optimism alive.
  • Sam Wagman: If one thing is for sure, it’s that Baker Mayfield is an upgrade from Sam Darnold.
  • Ben Cummins: Baker Mayfield provides stability at the quarterback position in an offense with fun weapons including Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, and Robbie Anderson.
  • Chad Parsons: Baker Mayfield supplies more stability potential to the offense than Sam Darnold. The weapons are good enough to hang with average quarterback play.
  • Dave Kluge: Even though Baker Mayfield is a likely upgrade at quarterback, there isn't much to feel good about in Carolina.
  • Jonathan Morris: McCaffrey and Moore are great explosive options, but I'm wary that Mayfield will help them reach their true potential.
  • Victoria Geary: The trade for Baker Mayfield seems fine in theory, but the front office has a long history of poor quarterback moves.
  • Kevin Coleman: The Mayfield trade gives them an upgrade at the quarterback position, but an unproven line could be their downfall this season.
  • Jeff Haseley: The coaching staff may keep this team from making the next step up the ranks but there are enough offensive weapons to be a fantasy-friendly source.
  • Craig Lakins: Mayfield offers more fantasy upside for the offense, but the Panthers need a healthy season from McCaffrey more than anything.

Staffers in a Bad Mood

  • Zareh Kantzabedian: The Carolina Panthers are a poor fit for Baker Mayfield, which offers little added optimism for the offense.
  • Ryan Weisse: Mayfield is a better quarterback but it's a mistake getting excited about a Ben McAdoo offense.
  • Jason Wood: When trading for Baker Mayfield brings a sense of relief, you’re in trouble.
  • Jordan McNamara: The Carolina Panthers are spending top-10 at the quarterback position this year, along with trading two Day 2 picks and two Day 3 picks to roster Mayfield, Darnold, and Corral.
  • Jeff Bell: The Panthers have all the makings of ownership riding out a contract year on a regime they know needs change.
  • Adam Wilde: Mayfield is one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world, but that doesn’t mean Carolina’s offense will be much more successful with him at the helm.
  • Andy Hicks: Lame Duck head coach, plus Ben McAdoo offense and Baker Mayfield. Yuck.
  • Alfredo Brown: Mayfield and Ben McAdoo sound like a recipe for disaster.
