Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 3 - Footballguys

Will Grant's Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 3 - Footballguys Will Grant Published 09/20/2018

Looking to dominate your office pool this season? Fifteen Footballguys.com staff members are here to help you out. Each week they will pick the winners of every NFL game, and rank their selections based on how confident they are that the team will win. The most-confident pick gets 16 points, and the least-confident gets just 1. We'll even total up everyone's picks so you can get an overall consensus on who our staff think will be the most likely winners. Each week we'll announce the weekly winners, and track the overall record for the entire season. A couple of things to note before we get to the picks:

  • Picks for this pool are straight up (no point spread considered).
  • Picks are due on Wednesday nights, and will not reflect any late-breaking news. If your league allows for last minute changes, please make adjustments to your office pool accordingly.
  • Our staffers also play in weekly picks Against The Spread, and Survivor Style 'Pick one Winner each week' formats as well. Check out the other weekly articles for more help with those type of games.

RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK

Even though he missed the Monday night game by picking Seattle over Chicago, James Brimacombe hung on to win this week's contest. Bear Heiser was able to submit his picks before the Thursday game started, and he narrowly missed winning this week. Both guys only missed 6 games last week, but Brimacombe allocated his confidence points just a little better than Heiser to bring home the win. Danny Tuccitto and Alex Miglio also only missed six games, but their confidence point allocation landed them in the 3rd and 4th slot.

Another week of pretty major upsets - starting with the Thursday night game. The Ravens were not a heavy favorite, but their loss to the Bengals cost the board more points than they earned. Houston, Philadelphia, Washington and the Jets were all heavy favorites, costing the weekly board over 100 points each with their losses. As with last week, the Minnesota - Green Bay game ended in a tie, meaning no one received confidence points for that game.

OVERALL RANKINGS

And just like that, last year's champion is back on top. While a six-point lead is nothing to get excited about just yet, those who followed us last year know that Brimacombe took over last year's board in Week 6 and never looked back. He's starting early this season!
