Ladd McConkey. Malik Nabers. A.J. Brown. Justin Jefferson. Four I WRs I touted in the spring of their rookie seasons for strong landing spots when the consensus thought they had among the worst.
I'm bragging with a purpose: You need a frame of reference for why it's worth paying attention to my analysis in situations where I am more confident in a rookie WR's landing spot than the consensus.
The consensus is lower on Burden than I am for three reasons.
Analysis that counts success rates by route types has determined Burden is an incomplete route runner, but analysis that defines meaningful route techniques (the RSP) executed to an NFL standard says otherwise.
The too many mouths to feed cliche also was wrong about Jefferson. They also don't understand the Lions' offense (they also misunderstood the Titans and Chargers offenses for Brown and McConkey). Burden will be in the Amon-Ra St. Brown role.
All three WRs should thrive if healthy in August.
Ben Cummins
A dynamic athlete who led the Nation in Missed Tackles Forced (30) last season. He lined up in the slot 85% of the time in 2024 and now lands with Ben Johnson, who helped turn Amon-Ra St. Brown into a superstar.
