If Kaleb Johnson can learn the finer aspects of the position he should usurp Jaylen Warren sooner rather than later, but he isn't a certain prospect. He has a high upside, but his downside can't be dismissed either. Pittsburgh don't generally miss at the running back position though.

The powerhouse rookie could easily be the bell cow for a run-heavy offense, but he'll need to take the job from Warren first.

Jaylen Warren will outscore him in any league that rewards receptions and is available two rounds later.

I've had Aaron Rodgers in my projections and rankings as a Steeler since I began preparing for the 2025 fantasy season so Johnson doesn't earn an extra bump. He's already slated to be the early-down workhorse for the Steelers. Expect the line and the quarterback to be better in 2025, and that will help Johnson deliver starter value in fantasy leagues.

If the Steelers get the receiving situation on track, Johnson could have a top-15 ceiling at his position because we'll see enough red-zone opportunities for him.

A very smooth rusher with great size at 224 pounds. Projects to share the backfield in his rookie season with the solid and reliable Jaylen Warren.

Assuming Johnson is plopped into Najee Harris’ old role, he’s got breakaway speed that Harris did not, setting up for a huge ceiling.

Dynasty prospects don't often get hand delivered a clear opportunity for instant success as Johnson is being handed.

He might not walk right into the Najee Harris role in Pittsburgh, but he is a nice partner for Jaylen Warren and should get plenty of opportunities.
