Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels looked like a seasoned pro in his debut year with the Commanders. If he improves, some scary numbers are around the corner. Runs and throws the ball smartly too. 

Jayden Daniels was outstanding in his rookie season. Can he do it again with a bolstered receiving corps? That's what you're banking on with his current ADP. 

Daniels had an incredible rookie year. Daniels displayed deep accuracy and timely big plays in the passing game. Washington also generated a lot of "schemed" offense to one option within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage -- more than any offense in the NFL. 

This is not an indictment of Daniels. I wish more teams could create schemes that lead to early success for young quarterbacks. 

There are potential outcomes this year based on last year's scheme and Daniels' play that could lead to obstacles that aren't factored into the rosy outlook most see for him in 2025. 

The OL must improve and Daniels must make better decisions against the blitz (11% sack rate is very high) and against pressure (38% sack rate) from base defensive sets. Daniels also has room to improve his completion percentage against pressure (47.8%).

Most opponents have answers for good rookie years in Year Two so expect some ups and downs but a QB1 season, overall. 

In his rookie season, he joined Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III as the only rookies with 3,000+ passing and 600+ rushing yards. He joins Lamar Jackson as the best bets to crack the elusive 4,000 - 1,000 club. A QB5 finish is just a flash of his elite potential.

He introduced himself to the fantasy community as an elite quarterback asset right away. Daniels ranked fifth at the quarterback position in Standard FBG fantasy scoring (21.6) last season. He threw for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns. He ran for 891 yards and 6 touchdowns as well. He led all quarterbacks in rushing yards (864) during the fantasy season (Weeks 1-17). 

His rushing and passing volume give him a top-five floor. The Commanders go as he goes, and the offense has improved around him. Expect similar production in his second year with Kliff Kingsbury.
