Barner is a good in-line blocker and that will be his primary role as rookie Elijah Arroyo acclimates to the full-range of NFL tight end play. He can win in the red zone because he's comfortable with making plays in tight coverage.
Expect him to earn short-yardage and red-zone opportunities as an underneath option in two tight end sets. Think Seattle's version of Brock Wright.
